Last year, the Ecos Utility Solutions division expanded its Lighting programs to new clients in the Southwest and Midwest.
“We are pleased to partner with more utilities in Arizona, New Mexico and Texas, and we’ll be able to leverage the success of our existing programs to bring cost-effective energy savings to these utilities,” explained Monica Blakeslee, senior manager of Utility Solutions.
New programs include Tucson Electric Power (TEP) and Unisource in Arizona; El Paso Electric in New Mexico; and Centerpoint in Texas, which is joining eight utilities that are already promoting the statewide “Make Your Mark, Texas” ENERGY STAR lighting program.
Dayton Power & Light in Ohio is Ecos’ first Midwest utility client, and the ENERGY STAR Residential Lighting program, which kicked off in January, will reach over 513,000 electric customers in 2009. Customers who are new to CFLs will learn more about the benefits of the bulbs, and save an average of $1.30 per bulb, thanks to the utility-sponsored discounts. The program goals is to move over one million CFLs this year.
