Ecos celebrates earth day

Ecos – Where Every Day is Earth Day – Celebrates Small Victories for the Planet

According to preliminary calculations, Ecos-run programs saved 842,462 MWh and 559,157 therms on behalf of our clients in 2008 alone. Using real world examples, these savings translate to 609,313 metric tons of CO2, which is equal to the greenhouse gas emissions of 111,596 passenger cars, or the yearly energy use of all the households in Springfield, Ill.

These numbers are relative to the average annual impact Ecos has made on behalf of our clients for the last 12 years.

Dave Weigel, vice president of marketing at Ecos, suggests, “…we are aware that not every person has access to the resources we have at our company to create change in our environment, but we believe everyone has the ability to make an impact. So, in the spirit of Earth Day, we offer these ten simple ways to be more carbon neutral.”
