Along with the Crater Lake National Park Trust, Ecos will co-sponsor “The Science of Crater Lake,” a free event that will explore the secrets of Earth’s clearest freshwater lake, at Portland State University’s Smith Memorial Union on Jan. 14, 2009. The cobalt-blue lake has been described as “the world’s largest rain gauge” for measuring the impacts of global warming. Ecos’ sponsorship coincides directly with our stated mission to reduce climate change effects and protect the environment. Several hundred people are expected to attend the event.
